2023 – Construction of a solar power plant with a capacity of 1.2 MW as an important step towards sustainable development and more efficient energy use.
2024 – Renovation of Aqua Safari and the entrance roof with the BistrOli restaurant in the Aqualuna Thermal Park after the fire in 2023.
2025 – Upgrade of Hotel Breza's offerings with the new Wellness Vodian, which includes a swimming pool, a children's pool with water attractions, saunas, and a relaxation area.
2025 – Renovation of the Gaj Sports Park.
2025 – Construction of the Canisia Dog Park, aimed at providing a more pleasant stay for guests visiting Terme Olimia with their pets.
2026 – Opening of Family Hotel Vilinia****s, representing an important upgrade to the family offerings of Terme Olimia and a new chapter in the development of modern experiences for families.
Development of Terme Tuhelj
1772 – The first systematic research of healing waters in the area of the then Habsburg monarchy. Emperor Joseph II establishes a commission to investigate thermal springs, further recognizing the healing properties of Tuhelj thermal water.
1905 – The beginnings of tourism in Tuheljske Toplice. Josip pl. Brigljević builds a house with a pool above the spring, while the Mihanović castle passes into the ownership of the Pukljak family, who arrange it for hospitality activities.
1913 – Former Smrdeče Toplice is renamed Tuheljske Toplice.
1935 – The period of classic Tuhelj tourism. A large pool with a wooden floor, a children's pool, a mud therapy pool, changing rooms, a sun terrace, a bowling alley, and a bistro are arranged around the castle.
1947 – Establishment of the Tuheljske Toplice Health Resort. The first health institution begins operating near the spring, using healing thermal water for treatment.
1967 – The bathing health resort passes into the ownership of the Zagreb company Astra-turizam, which recognizes the development potential of Tuheljske Toplice.
1969 – Demolition of the mill and sawmill of the Blažun family, which did not fit the then development vision of Tuheljske Toplice.
1970 – Opening of the first hotel in Tuheljske Toplice, built in close proximity to the Mihanović castle.
1980 – The beginning of a large investment cycle by Astra-turizam and the construction of the Mihanović Tourist-Recreational Center.
1982 – Opening of the Mihanović TRC, then the largest tourist-recreational complex in Yugoslavia, with a restaurant, accommodation facilities, sports fields, and a rich hospitality offering.
1983 – Renovation of the Mihanović castle, which still operates as a recognized restaurant and venue for business and ceremonial events.
1991 – During the war of independence in Croatia, the Mihanović TRC becomes a temporary home for many displaced persons and refugees.
1997 – The center passes into the hands of local entrepreneurs, soon thereafter going bankrupt.
2003 – Terme Olimia purchases the then Mihanović TRC, which changes its name to Terme Tuhelj the same year. This marks the beginning of a new development period and one of the most important investment cycles in continental tourism in Croatia.
2004 – The first wave of investments after the takeover, including the renovation of the existing hotel and reconstruction of 138 rooms with accompanying facilities.
2005 – Renovation of the existing pool complex and construction of the Water Planet, then the largest bathing facility in Croatia, with indoor and outdoor pools filled with thermal water.
2006 – Construction of wellness facilities and one of the largest Sauna Worlds in Croatia. The wellness center receives a new name – SPAeVITA.
2008 – Conversion of the sports hall into a multifunctional indoor sports space for sports groups and guest recreation.
2009 – Renovation of the Terme Tuhelj campsite, which receives a new look and becomes even more attractive for nature lovers.
2010 – Arrangement of Mihanović Park in front of the Mihanović castle, construction of a walking path, and installation of a bust of poet Antun Mihanović.
2012 – Start of construction of Hotel Well****. The new investment wave includes the construction of 124 new rooms, renovation of existing accommodation facilities, expansion of the wellness center, construction of a conference center, and an underground garage.
2015 – The restaurant features the largest mural in Croatia, created by renowned artist Edo Murtić, and its return to the wall of the indoor bathing area of the Water Planet.
2018 – The Water Planet acquires new water attractions: two adrenaline slides in the outdoor pool, a large children's water park in the indoor pool, and the enclosed Black Hole slide.
2019 – Construction of Tuhi Land, a new water attraction for younger children. The same year, the Terme Tuhelj campsite undergoes a comprehensive renovation and becomes Kamp Vita*****, the only five-star campsite in the continental part of Croatia.
2020 – Opening of Glamping Village Terme Tuhelj*****, a modern complex of mobile homes with wellness and spa offerings, private parking, a children's pool, a wellness pool, an outdoor fireplace, and private glamping wellness.
2022 – Construction of Tuhi Green PlaNET, the first Tube installation in Croatia, aimed at children and further enhancing the family offerings of the destination.
2023 – Construction of the new adrenaline slide Tuhi Slide at the outdoor pools, further enriching the offerings of the Water Planet and adrenaline water experiences.
2024 – Construction of a solar power plant as an important step towards sustainable operations, energy efficiency, and greater use of renewable energy sources.
2025 – Renovation of the western part of the thermal baths and refurbishment of the indoor part of the Water Planet pools with a new reception. As part of the investment, a new walking path was arranged, the Luminis restaurant was opened, and a new family accommodation pavilion was built.
