IMPROPER POSTURE AND SCOLIOSIS IN CHILDREN
The posture in childhood is a predictor of the condition and pain of the spine in adulthood.
It also affects our well-being and level of self-confidence. Regular systematic check-ups and parental observation of the child's posture are very important for early detection of deviations and deformities in posture. Due to increasing school burdens with a lot of sitting and too little free play, posture problems are becoming more common.
Regular movement allows children to develop appropriate muscle mass, coordination, mobility, balance, and agility, which greatly impacts the quality of life in adulthood.
We distinguish between poor postures (too much kyphosis in the thoracic region, "hunchback," excessive lordosis in the lumbar region..) and scoliosis. Idiopathic scoliosis is scoliosis for which we do not know the cause of its occurrence, it is the most common type of scoliosis and occurs in children between the ages of 10 and 12. In the case of scoliosis, it is best to determine it before the onset of rapid growth, but it is often diagnosed after this period.
At the Health Center of Terme Olimia, we have prepared a colorful children's gym with various equipment where our experts guide parents and children in proper exercise and posture correction.
